Company Description: We're a thriving podcast production company based in the vibrant Shoreditch area of London. Our state-of-the-art studio serves as a creative hub for podcasters to bring their ideas to life. We're seeking a versatile individual to join our team as a Studio Manager/Videographer who will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth studio operations and delivering high-quality video content for our podcast clients.
We're expanding! And after the successful launch of our first location in July 2024, we're expanding to a second location 3 minutes around the corner with 4 brand new studios, a make-up/changing area and lots more. A true hub for podcast creators, and with that, we're looking to grow the team to help with that expansion.

Job Purposes: The Studio Assistant and Video Engineer is responsible for the smooth operation of the studio environment and the technical execution of video productions. This role supports the Assistant Studio Manager and Studio Manager to ensure that clients have a high quality experience using the studio spaces as well as delivering high-quality video content by ensuring that all equipment, processes, and assets are handled efficiently and professionally.
Requirements
Required Experience, Skills & Capabilities:
Experience
* Proven experience in a studio or production environment
* Understanding of lighting principles as well as video and audio recording techniques
Skills
* Proficiency with Sony cameras (A74, FX3 and FX6)
* Proficiency with audio recording equipment (Midas 32R is a bonus, but sound desks at a minimum)
* Strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro; bonus for After Effects, Photoshop and the wider Adobe Suite
* Competence using both Mac and PC, as well as general file management
Capabilities
* Able to multitask and manage time and stay calm in fast-paced shoot environments
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail in file management
* Strong problem-solving skills; able to troubleshoot under pressure
* Excellent communication skills with non-technical team members
* Physically capable of lifting and rigging production gear, furniture and other equipment as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Studio Operations
* Prepare, maintain, and reset the studio environment before and after each shoot
* Ensure all equipment (cameras, lights, mics, backdrops) is functional, clean, and safely stored
* Maintain studio cleanliness and organisation to high standards
Technical Setup & Support
* Set up cameras, lighting rigs, audio equipment, and teleprompters prior to shoots
* Operate video, lighting, and audio equipment during shoots as required
* Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues on-site in real-time
Post-Production & Editing
* Import, label, and organise footage and audio files after shoots
* Knowledge of video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro (and After Effects where needed) to meet creative briefs and brand standards. This role is not a video editing position, but knowledge is required
* Export and send recorded content to the post production team for editing and processing.
Client Relationships
* Welcome clients to the space and ensure clients know where the bathroom, kitchen and studio spaces are and how to use the coffee machine
* Ensure that all interactions with clients are positive, engaging, friendly and clear
* Answer any technical, process related or other questions clients may have, or if unclear on the answer direct the question to other team members to resolve
* Provide studio tours to potential clients highlighting the key aspects of the studios and breakout spaces
Asset & File Management
* Archive raw and final footage according to company structure and versioning rules
* Manage external drives, cloud storage, and project folder consistency
* Assist client with file transfers in requested
Team Support
* Attend planning meetings and offer feedback on technical aspects of production
* Attend team social events and other team related events
* Support the production of onsite recordings, livestream or hybrid events on occasion
* Liaise with the booking team regarding on the day changes or additions to the booking.
Maintenance & Inventory
* Conduct regular checks and updates on all studio and field equipment
* Maintain an accurate inventory list; log any missing or faulty equipment
* Ensure batteries, lights, cables, SD cards, and consumables are stocked
Day-to-Day Activities:
Daily
* Open /close the studio (on a rota), following the related checklist
* Prep studio layout and lighting according to shoot schedule
* Lead in-house shoots (camera operation, audio checks, etc.)
* Clean and reset studio after use in preparation for the next shoot
* Import and backup footage from the day's shoots
Weekly
* Update and sync drive structures and backups
* Submit equipment usage reports or flag faults
* Provide studio tours to potential clients
Monthly
* Along with the wider team conduct a deep-clean of the studio spaces and recalibrate equipment as needed
* Along with the wider team perform full inventory checks on recording equipment
* Propose at least 1 technical or workflow improvement

* Working Hours, Compensation, and Benefits:
* Hours: 45 hours per week (8 hours per day + 1 hour lunch/breaks, 9 hours total), mostly Mon to Friday between 09:00 and 18:00, but our studios are open 08:00 to 21:00 Mon to Fri, then 09:00 to 19:00 Sat and Sun. Flexible scheduling is required to accommodate this, as some evening and weekend work will be required
* Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience) +£5.77/hour for shifts after 6 PM and weekends
