Aerospace / Aircraft Structures Technician
Farnborough, Hampshire
I'm currently supporting a highly innovative aerospace organisation operating at the forefront of high-altitude aircraft and advanced composite structures. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their manufacturing capability and are seeking a skilled Aerospace / Aircraft Structures Technician to join their team.
This is a hands-on manufacturing role within a highly regulated aerospace environment, offering the opportunity to work on a next-generation aircraft platform using lightweight composite materials, precision assembly techniques, and advanced bonding processes.
The Role
You will be part of a technically strong manufacturing team responsible for the build and verification of aircraft structures. Key responsibilities include:
* Manufacturing and assembly of aircraft structures (sub-assemblies and primary assemblies)
* Working from engineering drawings using calibrated jigs and precision measuring equipment
* Composite trimming, forming, shaping, and adhesive bonding
* Dimensional verification and post-bond quality inspections
* Identifying waste and supporting efficiency, Lean, and 6S improvements
* Supporting shop-floor safety, FOD, and quality initiatives
* Mentoring and supporting less experienced team members where required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* A completed Aerospace or Engineering Apprenticeship
* NVQ Level 3 in Aerospace / Avionics / Engineering (or equivalent)
* Strong hands-on experience with composites and bonding processes
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process instructions
* Knowledge of ESD environments, EWIS, Human Factors, and Health & Safety
* Experience working in aerospace, space, or another highly regulated industry
* Exposure to Lean / 6 Sigma or 6S methodologies (advantageous)
