Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment across our facilities. Responsibilities
* Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems.
* Diagnose faults and perform repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
* Assist with the installation, commissioning, and testing of new machinery and equipment.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs carried out. Support the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
* Use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, Auto- CAD and other process monitoring and improvement software.
* Collaborate with other engineering team members to optimise equipment and plant performance.
* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process enhancements.
* Support plant outages working with operations team, internal engineering team and sub -contractors.
* Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or urgent maintenance requests.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role within a process based industrial environment.
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical principles.
* Relevant technical qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics accurately.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Strong communication skills to work collaboratively within a team.
* Flexibility to work shifts as required; willingness to participate in ongoing training programmes.
