Job Description
Are you an experienced Fire and Security Systems Engineer looking to join a growing and dynamic team? We are currently seeking a dedicated Mobile Fire and Security Systems Engineer to support our expanding client base across the UK. This is a hands-on role involving the installation, maintenance, and servicing of a wide range of fire detection and security systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites.
Main Responsibilities
* Install, service, and maintain fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable)
* Install and maintain intruder alarm systems
* Work with both IP and analogue CCTV systems
* Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
* Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and industry standards (BS 5839, BS 7671)
* Accurately complete all job documentation and service reports
* Participate in an on-call rota for emergency call-outs
* Maintain clear, professional communication with clients and provide excellent customer service
* Attend regular training to stay current with new technologies and standards
* Care for and maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle
Person Requirements
Essential:
* Proven experience in a similar role within the fire and security industry
* Strong knowledge of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems
* Understanding of British Standards (BS 5839, BS 5266)
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to travel and work independently across various locations
* Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
* Legal right to work in the UK
* Willingness to undergo a background check
Desirable:
* Industry certifications (FIA, City & Guilds, ECS/CSCS card)
* Familiarity with equipment from Eaton, Texecom, Hikvision, Paxton, Kentec
* Experience working to NSI or BAFE standards
* Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays for project requirements
