Overview
Are you looking for a new post that will give you the opportunity to further develop your acute sector and team management skills? This post offers involvement in service developments and planning with protected time for CPD, regular clinical supervision, and opportunities to attend relevant CENs and external training. You will be part of a county-wide acute and community SLT service managed and professionally led by a practicing SLT, with a strong relationship with medical colleagues, ENT consultants, and FEES services for inpatients and outpatient clinics. Weekly SLT-led videofluoroscopy clinics are run on both acute sites.
East Sussex is the location, with easy access to Brighton and London, coastal scenery, and the Downs for outdoor activities. Responsibilities
* Develop and further dysphagia management skills within the acute setting and support service development and planning.
* Support less experienced therapists, assistants and students; work alongside specialists in voice, head and neck cancer, stroke, rehabilitation and neurological degenerative conditions to develop knowledge and skills.
* Contribute to service pathways of care in line with organisational and Divisional objectives.
* Participate in research and service development; attend postgraduate courses and RCSLT CENs.
* Collaborate with the team to run and improve FEES services and videofluoroscopy clinics.
* Engage with the local University partnerships and contribute to educational activities.
* Benefit from protected CPD time, monthly clinical forums, regular clinical supervision, and support to attend relevant events and training opportunities.
Qualifications
* Completed post basic dysphagia training.
* Sound level of experience working independently in the acute setting and willingness to develop at an advanced level.
* Ability to support and supervise less experienced staff and students, and to work with multidisciplinary teams including specialists in voice and head and neck cancer, stroke, rehabilitation and neurodegenerative conditions.
