General Manager
Location: Lurgan
Salary: £65k-£75k
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead the operations and continued development of a polymers manufacturing business specialising in polymer compounding, pulverising, and recycling. Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the facility, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the business.

Key Responsibilities
9. Lead the day-to-day management of the manufacturing facility and its workforce.
10. Oversee polymer compounding, pulverising, recycling, and associated production processes
11. Drive operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost control across all areas of the business.
12. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and maintain robust quality management systems.
13. Lead all Health, Safety, Environmental, and regulatory compliance activities
14. Manage, develop, and motivate production, technical, and operational teams
15. Work closely with customers and suppliers to maintain strong commercial relationships.
16. Manage raw material procurement, inventory control, and supplier performance.
17. Support product development initiatives, customer trials, and the evaluation of new materials and processes.
18. Oversee material trialling and product testing to support customer requirements and business growth opportunities.
19. Support the development and implementation of operational plans and business growth initiatives.
20. Ensure production targets, quality standards, delivery schedules, and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
21. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities throughout the operation.
22. Prepare operational reports and provide regular updates to the Board on business performance.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
23. Proven experience within polymers, plastics, recycling, compounding, or related manufacturing sectors.
24. Previous experience in a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Plant Manager, General Manager, or similar leadership role.
25. Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, process improvement, and production planning.
26. Experience managing ISO 9001 quality systems and Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
27. Demonstrated people management and leadership experience.
28. Commercial awareness with an understanding of budgets, costs, margins, and operational performance.
29. Engineering, manufacturing, or related technical qualification desirable.
