An ambitious and student-focused secondary school in Reading is recruiting for a skilled and compassionate SENCO to take a leadership role in delivering outstanding support for students with additional needs. This is a full-time, permanent post starting September 2025 and would suit an experienced SENCO or an aspiring leader with a passion for inclusion and wellbeing.

Responsibilities as a SENCO will include:

Leading SEND policy and provision across the school

Coordinating EHCPs and liaising with external agencies
*
Supporting classroom teachers to differentiate and implement strategies effectively
*
Leading the Learning Support team and mentoring LSAs
*
Using data to evaluate provision and implement improvements
*
Driving whole-school inclusion and accessibility initiatives
*
Working closely with SLT and families to support vulnerable students
The ideal SENCO will have:

QTS and National SENCO Award (or willingness to complete it)

A deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice

Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
