Job overview

The Make Ready Hub Coordinator, will hold overarching responsibility for their Hub's staff, delivery of the service in their hub and the management and support of their Hub's staff. Their role will be critical in making the hub operation a success, working closely with colleagues in Fleet and Workshops to ensure the right vehicle is in the right place with the right team to allow the make ready operation to run efficiently, reducing the time out of service. They will need to work dynamically to solve issues that we have on a day to day basis. They will be the line managers of all the staff within their hub - Shift Supervisors, Operatives and Drivers.

The purpose of this role is to proactively lead a team of Shift Supervisors, Make Ready Operatives and Make Ready Driver Cleaners within the hub to provide safe, effective, caring and responsive services of a modern ambulance service.

Main duties of the job

As part of a team, the post holder will be effectively responsible for the day to day running of the Make Ready functions within the hub, with particular focus on staff wellbeing and development, operational productivity and efficiency, and best utilisation of available resources to support operational deployment.

The role primarily involves close liaison with fleet administrator, fleet workshops, centralised scheduling and operational colleagues to ensure that all key components are in place to enable vehicles to be made ready, and for those vehicles to be in the right place at the right time to meet operational requirements.

The post holder will ensure that emergency vehicles are in the right place at the right time to meet operational deployment requirements.

Person specification

Qualifications

* NVQ Level 4 qualification, or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience at this level.
* Full British Driving Licence, Category B for at least two years and must hold a C1 category, up to 6 penalty points would be considered dependent upon offence code

Experience

* Experience of budget management and development of budgets.
* Demonstrable experience of leading, developing, supporting and motivating individuals to manage effectively.

Skills & Knowledge

* Expert knowledge of Supplies/Logistics/Make Ready Service Delivery.

Personal Qualities, Abilities & Attributes

* Ability to plan and schedule resources, human, material and financial, to deliver major projects.
