A vacancy has arisen for a Tax Manager at PD Ports, to work within the Specialist Finance team who are responsible for finance areas such as Tax, Insurance, Corporate Risk and Governance and Payroll. You will be working within a wider finance team ofover 50 people responsible for all aspects of finance at PD Ports and will also work closely with a range of members across the wider business.
Location: Middlesbrough with occasional requirement to travel to other business locations within the UK
Working Arrangements: Hybrid with a minimum of two days in the office dependent on business requirements
The five main things our Tax Managerwill be working on are:
* Preparation and submission of tax reporting including tax provisions and forecasts
* Co-ordination, information gathering and review of externally prepared / internal preparation of corporate tax computations for a group of over 20 UK companies
* Liaising with tax advisors and HMRC on complex tax matters such as international taxes and corporate structure re-organisations
* Continuous review of tax legislation to identify relevant changes across all taxes and ensure tax optimisation. Analyse impact and communicate to business partners
* Supporting the team in business development initiatives, which could include Customs and modelling
We are seeking someone who:
* Is a recently qualified CTA or ACA/ACCA and has a clear understanding of current tax accounting/technical issues including IFRS
* Has good knowledge of UK taxes
* Has a questioning and analytical nature, looking to understand the numbers rather than just prepare them
* Enjoys working within a professional and high performing team, and can work autonomously
* With strong IT skills including using spreadsheets and tax technology
* Has the ability to liaise confidently with all levels of management both operational and financial.
