Overview
The CRU Safeguarding Specialist Advisor will support the CRU Specialist Health Lead in developing health processes within the CRU for the local health economy. Under the guidance of the CRU Specialist Health Lead, the advisor will work with partner agencies to improve information sharing, analysis, decision‑making and reduce risk to children, young people and adults at risk.
Responsibilities
* The post holder acts as an advocate for children, raising awareness of their needs and actively promoting the philosophy that their interests are paramount.
* The post holder takes the lead in providing safeguarding supervision, specialist advice and support related to child protection, children in need and vulnerable children.
* Monitors and assesses the impact of child and adult protection work on individual practitioners/caseloads, identifies risk and communicates findings to the CRU Health Lead and local health economy service line managers.
* Provides specialist safeguarding advice to managers, professionals and the multi‑agency team within the Front Door service, drawing on theoretical and practical knowledge across safeguarding procedures and practices.
* Provides advice on the management of confidential, sensitive information sharing with partner agencies in relation to safeguarding children and adults, under the direction of the CRU Health Lead.
