We have a great opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join our client in Port Talbot, responsible for purchasing raw materials that are vital to their manufacturing operations.
The Role
As a key member of the Supply Chain team you will:
Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure all purchased goods meet required standards and specifications.
Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, from raising Purchase Orders to ensuring supplier OTIF and delivery performance targets are achieved.
Lead and participate in scheduled tendering activities, evaluate offers, and award business accordingly.
Create and maintain robust supply contracts and supplier documentation.
Support the Accounts Department in resolving invoice queries.
Maintain and update the supplier database.
Expedite deliveries where needed to ensure smooth production continuity.
Uphold and promote all corporate procurement and compliance policies.
The Person
Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within a manufacturing or materials-based environment.
Strong computer skills (MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook) and hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
The capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities with professionalism.
A proactive, independent working style and strong attention to detail.
Education & Qualifications:
Degree in a business discipline (or equivalent experience).
CIPS Diploma (or working towards) highly desirable but not essential
