Job Title: Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
Location: South Hampshire (Southampton and surrounding area). Type: Part-time, Freelance. Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (pro rata, dependent on experience).

bMindful Psychology are recruiting a qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to support clients in the South Hampshire region with a focus in and around Southampton and Portsmouth. The role involves delivering specialist therapeutic support to children and adolescents experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties, working in a multidisciplinary setting to create tailored interventions and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist psychological assessments of children and young people using data from multiple sources (psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, observations, and information from parents, local authorities, and schools).
* Formulate and implement tailored therapeutic intervention plans for children and young people’s mental health needs.
* Undertake consultations with care providers, educators, parents/guardians, and support them to understand the psychological basis of a young person’s presentation and enable holistic therapeutic care.
* Support delivery of one-to-one private therapy sessions with individuals.
* Undertake formal reviews and consultations with parents/carers and recommend appropriate therapeutic approaches and interventions.
* Exercise professional judgment and responsibility for the therapeutic management of young people, including assessment, formulation, intervention, discharge, and communicating plans with other professionals.
* Provide advice on therapeutic/psychological aspects or risk assessment and management to other professionals.
* Monitor progress of interventions and maintain accurate, confidential client records in line with professional and legal standards.
* Contribute to service development and participate in regular team meetings and supervision sessions.
Qualifications and Skills
* Recognised qualification in relevant discipline.
* Registration with a professional body (HCPC, BACP, BABCP, UKCP, ACP) or equivalent.
* Proven experience working with children and young people within relevant sectors.
* Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, young people, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
