Working Pattern: Monday-Friday | 8:00am–4:00pm (Day Shifts)
Location: Cwmbran, South Wales
We’re recruiting for an experienced Hygiene Manager to join a fast-paced food manufacturing site in South Wales. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing site hygiene, operational support functions, and compliance standards to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
The Role
As Hygiene Manager, you’ll lead and develop the hygiene and operational support teams, ensuring shift-level performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people. You’ll drive hygiene excellence, maintain GMP compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
You’ll work closely with production and technical teams to ensure standards are maintained, audits are successfully supported, and operational performance targets are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach, and develop hygiene and operational support teams
* Ensure full compliance with hygiene, GMP, food safety, and H&S standards
* Oversee cleaning effectiveness and site hygiene performance
* Support internal and external audits and maintain inspection readiness
* Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and improve efficiency
* Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
* Support pest control and waste management activities across the site
* Work collaboratively with production teams to ensure smooth daily operations
About You
* Experience in hygiene leadership within food manufacturing or a similarly regulated environment
* Proven ability to manage and motivate teams in a fast-paced setting
* Food Safety Level 2/3 qualified
* IOSH Supervising Safely (or equivalent) desirable
* Strong knowledge of GMP, COSHH, cleaning processes, and hygiene standards
* Continuous improvement mindset with good problem-solving skills
* Organised, approachable, and confident communicator
