Our client is a leading provider of mixing services & aggregates. They are currently seeking a Transport Manager at their site in Cambridge.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of transport management, ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards of service while optimising operational processes.
Key Accountabilities
1. Provide administrative support to the Managing Director in transport-related activities within the organisation.
2. Support the MD in managing planned and unplanned vehicle maintenance, notifying Drivers, Fitters, and External Workshop staff to ensure timely actions.
3. Ensure transport staff deliver services aligned with customer needs, guidance, and risk assessments.
4. Participate as a member of the management team, undertaking delegated tasks and responsibilities, including contracting out transport provision when necessary.
5. Promote the requirements of the FORS Standard as they relate to our organisation.
6. Ensure high standards of service delivery through the application of recognised standards, policies, procedures, and practices.
7. Work safely and effectively at all times.
8. Perform any other duties related to the responsibilities of the role, as delegated by the Directors.
