The Managing Director of a successful commercial printing house in Scotland is retiring. We are seeking an ambitious individual to head our sales team, bring in new business, and eventually move into a Managing Director role within the next couple of years.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the sales department and develop and implement sales strategies.
* Gather performance data and create reports for senior management and shareholders.
* Analyze market trends, forecast sales, and identify growth opportunities.
* Review sales processes, systems, and performance management criteria to continually improve the team.
* Build deep‑rooted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and partners.
* Maintain a clear view of profit and loss, providing business direction for the sales team.
Qualifications
* Currently in the printing industry or have worked in the sector within the last two years.
* Proven record of building and managing high‑performing sales teams.
* Strong business acumen with excellent communication, motivation, and persuasion skills.
* Number‑oriented with strong mathematical skills and business sense.
* Strategic and analytical mindset capable of monitoring market shifts and avoiding stagnation.
* Experience in packaging, printing, or paper sectors is required.
