The Student Adviser Support role provides support to the Student Adviser team and the wider SSWS team. They are an initial point of contact for students to access wider Student Support and Wellbeing Services (SSWS), which they represent and promote. The Student Adviser Support predominantly helps provide support to students transitioning into university life and other priority students through outreach, answering enquiries by phone, and through askUCL (the student enquiry system), and hosting year-round community building activities. Student Adviser Support identifies challenges students may be facing and work with them to find a solution to ensure each student has the very best experience while studying at UCL. The primary work location for this role may be Bloomsbury, or UCL East Campus, and you will be expected to travel to any of these or other campuses on a regular basis.

About you
Applicants must have substantive knowledge of the HE sector, in particular student services and administration, together with in-depth knowledge of national and international trends and innovations in the provision of student services.
The successful applicant will have previous work experience within a customer‑focused team and a genuine interest in supporting staff and students; they will also have previous experience delivering student support. You will be someone who prioritises customer care and wellbeing, taking a sensitive and diplomatic approach, and who demonstrates motivation for the role. You must be organised, resourceful and proactive, with an ability to work autonomously, complete projects, and customer insight activities.
