Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Plate and Bar Saw Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment in Birmingham. This full-time, on-site role involves operating machinery to process and fabricate specialty metals in line with specifications and production requirements.
Daily responsibilities include operating plate and bar saws, monitoring equipment performance, carrying out routine maintenance, using hand tools, and performing quality checks to ensure products meet required standards. The role requires strict adherence to health and safety protocols and close collaboration with team members to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities

Operating Friggi Plate Saws and Kasto Bar Saws
*
Processing specialty metals to specification
*
Conducting quality inspections and measurements
*
Performing routine machine maintenance
*
Using hand tools and measuring equipment accurately
*
Following workplace health and safety procedures
*
Working collaboratively with supervisors and team members
Qualifications & Skills
*
Essential: Experience operating Friggi Plate Saws and Kasto Bar Saws
*
Strong understanding of quality control procedures
*
Competence using measuring equipment and hand tools
*
Good communication skills
*
Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards
*
Previous experience in manufacturing or a related field (desirable)
*
Technical training or certification (desirable)
*
Forklift training (desirable but not essential)
Working Hours
*
Monday to Friday: 08:00am – 04:00pm
*
30-minute unpaid lunch break
