Role Overview
As a Warehouse & Cleaning Operative, you will work as part of a small, fast-paced team responsible for scanning parcels, sorting incoming goods, and preparing outgoing loads for delivery to depots. You will also be responsible for keeping the warehouse clean, safe, and organised to meet compliance and operational standards.
This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to follow set processes while supporting wider warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations:
* Scan incoming parcels accurately using handheld scanners.
* Sort and label goods, ensuring items are directed to the correct areas for onward delivery.
* Prepare outgoing loads, checking items are secure and ready for dispatch to depots.
* Assist with unloading and loading vehicles when required.
* Follow company procedures for parcel handling, reporting any discrepancies or damaged goods.
Cleaning & Housekeeping:
* Carry out daily cleaning duties across the warehouse, including sweeping, waste removal, and ensuring workstations are tidy.
* Maintain safe walkways and storage areas, ensuring no obstructions or hazards.
* Comply with health & safety requirements, including cleaning spillages and reporting hazards promptly.
Teamwork & Compliance:
* Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth running of warehouse operations.
* Adhere to company policies and health & safety regulations at all times.
* Support with any additional warehouse or site tasks as directed by management.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous warehouse or logistics experience (desirable but not essential – full training provided).
* Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.
* Good level of physical fitness (role involves lifting and moving parcels).
* Basic IT/scanning knowledge.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a small team environment.
Hours & Pay
* Minimum of 15 hours per week, usually across 2 days (afternoon/evening shifts).
* Overtime available as required.
* Pay: Competitive, above Real Living Wage.
