Purchasing Administrator Central Employment are working with one of their established clients to recruit a Purchasing Administrator for a permanent, full-time position based in the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne. Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (30-minute unpaid lunch break) Contract: Permanent, full-time The Role This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused individual to support purchasing and supply chain activity within a busy operational environment. The Purchasing Administrator will play a key role in ensuring orders are raised accurately, suppliers are managed effectively, and internal stakeholders are kept informed. Working closely with procurement, production, dispatch and finance teams, the role will contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the business. Key Responsibilities Raising and processing purchase orders, ensuring all pricing, quantities and supplier details are accurate Maintaining supplier records, including contact information, pricing and general performance details Monitoring outstanding orders and following up with suppliers to resolve delays or discrepancies Assisting with procurement reporting, KPIs and audit documentation Handling invoice queries by matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes, liaising with finance as required Supporting supplier onboarding and compliance documentation Assisting with stock monitoring and raising replenishment orders where applicable Coordinating internal purchasing requests and providing regular order status updates Carrying out general administrative duties, including document control and maintaining procurement systems Skills and Experience Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good communication skills with the confidence to liaise with suppliers and internal teams Well-organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks Comfortable working with numbers, pricing and basic reporting Competent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and business systems Previous experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain would be beneficial but is not essential Benefits Company pension scheme Employee discount Employee assistance programme On-site parking
