Job Summary
In this role, you’ll lead and oversee the Credit Control team, driving process improvements to boost efficiency. You’ll also assist with management reporting and resolving historical ledger issues, all while supporting and developing a high-performing team. This is a full-time, permanent role offering flexible hybrid working. When you’re on-site, you’ll be based at our Bradford BD12 office — just moments from Junction 26 of the M62 for an easy commute. In return you’ll be offered a competitive salary of up-to £32,000 depending on your experience along with a structured development plan that includes training, mentorship, and clear opportunities for career growth within our organisation.
You’ll build strong, collaborative relationships across the business — working closely with the Financial Controller to stay on top of key customer issues, supporting your Transaction Team to develop and handle escalations, linking Finance with internal departments to keep things running smoothly, and proactively engaging with external customers to ensure payments come through quickly and accurately.
What will you be doing as our Credit Control Team Leader:
1. Lead and Develop the Credit Control Function - manage key customer accounts, oversee daily cash receipts, and guide your team through regular aged debtor reviews. Drive performance by mentoring team members, identifying skills gaps, and holding regular 1-1s and development meetings
2. Drive Process Improvement and Financial Control - support the development and enforcement of robust procedures around payments and cash collection to optimise cashflow
3. Prepare and present accurate financial reports for the leadership team on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Ensure all financial data is stored securely and in compliance with audit and company policy
4. Assist with internal audit reviews and ensure all reconciliation tasks, including alternate-month bank reconciliations, are completed accurately and on time
5. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth workflows and proactively resolve complex billing or invoicing issues, acting as a key contact point for escalations
6. Provide cross-functional support, including cover for the Purchase Ledger Team Leader when required. Act as the go-to contact for Sage Administration and Credit Safe management

8. Experienced in using a range of finance software to support accurate and efficient financial operations
