About the Role:
This job is based at our manufacturing site in Lockerbie, which is a Lower Tier COMAH site. This role will work alongside our current management team to manage the day to day operations on site. We are looking for experienced and motivated individuals to join our team.
Main Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day to day operations across the factory including manufacturing, filling, packing, yard and export.
* Work closely with the Filling & Packing Manager to ensure the smooth running of the operations
* Lead all aspects of people management, including recruitment, onboarding, training and development, absence management, performance management, investigations and disciplinary and grievance processes
* Plan, organise, and schedule daily and weekly workloads to meet production demands and ensure resource utilisation is optimised
* Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, practices and statutory requirements, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement
* Collaborate closely with Management, Quality, and Health & Safety teams to uphold the highest standards of product quality and operational performance
* Drive improvements in operational efficiency, productivity, and workflow to achieve increased output and reduced waste
* Work in partnership with the Planning department to ensure production schedules are achievable and production targets are consistently met
* Monitor and manage operational performance against site-specific KPIs, producing reports and implementing action plans where required
Skills and Experience:
* Experience of managing multiple teams within a fast paced operational, manufacturing, or production environment
* Ability to manage conflict, coach individuals, and address poor behaviours or performance issues in a fair and consistent manner
* Excellent attention to detail, ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and quality
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teams
* Previous industry or manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential
* Highly self‑motivated, driven, and able to work using initiative
* Results‑focused with a strong work ethic and a passion for continuous improvement.
