Overview
Senior Support Worker – Barrhead
What you’ll do in the role
* Work 39 hours per week in a mixed role: approximately 50% of your hours will involve direct support to residents across all shifts, including sleepovers; the remaining 50% will be dedicated to administrative and leadership tasks.
* Ensure smooth day‑to‑day operation of the service: overseeing staff rosters, coordinating supplies, managing rotas, handling reports and paperwork, ensuring regulatory compliance, and helping to maintain high standards.
* Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision for support staff, acting as a positive role model.
* Be involved in supporting residents with everyday tasks: personal care, daily living, promoting independence, assisting with mobility where needed, helping them engage in community or social activities.
* Share responsibility for the welfare, safety, dignity and outcomes of the people supported.
What we’re looking for
* Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role in a social care environment.
* Strong organisational, administrative and record‑keeping skills.
* Excellent leadership and people skills: ability to motivate, support, and guide support workers.
* Flexibility: willing to work across various shifts (including nights, early starts, late finishes, weekends) and sleepovers.
* A commitment to person‑centred care, upholding dignity, safety, rights, and promoting independence.
What we offer
* A full‑time senior role with meaningful responsibility and clear impact.
* Opportunities to develop your leadership and management skills within a supportive team.
* Working for Quarriers – one of Scotland’s leading social care charities with over 100 services across the country.
* Access to staff benefits, training & development, and a chance to work in an organisation with strong values and commitment to quality care.
