Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Specialist Provision

Salary: £89–£110 per day (depending on experience)

We’re working with a specialist provision in Gateshead that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside other complex learning needs. They’re looking for a resilient, caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team in September.
The role involves:
1. Providing consistent 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEMH and additional needs
2. Helping pupils manage their emotions, build confidence, and access learning
3. Working alongside a skilled team of teachers, therapists, and support staff
4. Promoting a calm, positive learning environment that values every child’s potential
We’re looking for someone who:
5. Has experience working with children with SEMH, SEND, or in a nurturing environment
6. Brings patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to every challenge
7. Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning
8. Is open to training opportunities like Thrive or Team Teach (which we can help you with!)
