Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality Consultant

An innovative, employee-owned environmental consultancy is seeking an early-career Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality Consultant to join its growing team. The company provides specialist services across occupational hygiene and environmental monitoring, including air quality and dust monitoring, technical consultancy, equipment design and development, and laboratory testing and analysis.

The Role
This is a varied and hands-on position offering excellent development opportunities and structured support. Key responsibilities include:
1. Conducting occupational exposure assessments for dusts, fibres, VOCs, gases, and other workplace contaminants
2. Producing clear, accurate technical reports with robust interpretation of monitoring data
3. Assisting with noise monitoring, LEV assessments, and related surveys (full training provided)
4. Responding to client enquiries, preparing quotations, and supporting business development activities
The role is primarily office-based, with regular UK site visits. Hybrid working is available once training has been completed.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements
5. Minimum of 1 year’s experience in occupational or industrial hygiene, including airborne contaminant and noise monitoring
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven technical report-writing ability
7. Confident use of Microsoft Word and Excel
8. Ability to manage, interpret, and present large datasets
9. Working knowledge of COSHH, EH40, and relevant MDHS guidance
10. Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
Desirable Experience
11. BOHS membership
12. Degree in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
13. Familiarity with indoor air quality standards and frameworks (e.g. BREEAM)
14. Experience with LEV testing and/or supporting commercial enquiries and quotations
15. Comfortable in a client-facing role and able to work independently
16. Willingness to travel and stay overnight occasionally
