Qualified Nurse Associate - Early Days in Custody team (EDiC)
We are currently recruiting two full time Nursing Associates to join the Early Days in Custody team at HMP Elmley.
Within this role you will contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients and service users across all health and care settings. As a Nursing Associate you will deliver high quality, personalised, safe, compassionate care in the best interest of people. You will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours required across the fields of nursing, providing holistic care and support for patients.
You will work independently under the leadership of registered nurses, working within the sphere of nursing. You will recognise and work within the limits of your competence. You will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct and be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council. (NMC).

Key Task And Responsibilities
* To work as directed by a registered nurse.
* To provide physical care to patients in accordance with their care plan.
* To support the delivery of national screening programmes.
* To support and deliver clinics as instructed within the establishment’s clinic timetable.
* Supporting the holistic care needs of all prisoners in the first seven days of custody.
* Working within the national guidelines - physical health of people in prison NICE guideline reference number: NG57
* Be up to date with emergency response procedures.
* Carry a radio and respond to medical emergencies as part of the primary care team.
* Participate and contribute to risk assessments and ACCT reviews.
