Better Placed are delighted to be partnering with a well known brand who are on a mission to reshape and elevate their product offering — and they're looking for a sharp, strategic, and commercially-minded Category Manager to help them do just that.
What you’ll be doing:
As Category Manager, you'll be the driving force behind the development, positioning, and performance of your category. From analysing customer trends and market gaps to shaping the product range and driving commercial results, this is a role that blends strategy with hands-on execution.
Working cross-functionally with colleagues in marketing, content, operations, and commercial, you’ll ensure your category is delivering value — not just for the customer, but for the business too.
Key responsibilities:
* Take ownership of a defined product category — including its strategy, range, and performance
* Identify and develop opportunities for new or enhanced products based on customer insight, commercial data, and competitor analysis
* Define category propositions and ensure products are positioned clearly, competitively, and in line with brand standards
* Work with internal teams to build, refine, and launch new offerings — ensuring quality, feasibility, and profitability
* Monitor category performance and customer feedback, using this to refine product plans and inform future strategy
* Collaborate with marketing and digital teams to bring each product to life across all customer touchpoints
What they’re looking for:
* Proven experience in a product, category, or commercial role — ideally within a customer-facing industry
* Strong commercial instincts with a good understanding of pricing, positioning, and product lifecycle management
* Customer-focused mindset — you know how to spot what people want, and how to deliver it
* Collaborative approach — able to influence and align with cross-functional teams
* Attention to detail, balanced with the ability to see the bigger picture
* Creative, strategic, and passionate about delivering best-in-class products
