This is an exciting opportunity to take on a pivotal leadership role within OUP’s Education Content Operations team. You will join a supportive, collaborative environment where your leadership will shape both the performance and culture of the Content Delivery team in Noida. The role offers exposure to international teams, ongoing transformation through XML‑first workflows, and hands‑on engagement with publishing technology, tools, and suppliers.
As a senior member of the Education Content Operations team, you will help build a positive, growth‑oriented environment—making it a meaningful next step for someone looking to advance their leadership and operational management career.
Opportunity – the ‘what’
In this role, you will supervise and support a team of Production Leads responsible for XML‑first typesetting for Education products. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:
* Managing work allocations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of production tasks.
* Overseeing team performance, workloads, priorities, and project progress.
* Providing hands‑on people management, including recruitment, onboarding, leave and attendance management, and performance management.
* Ensuring clear communication of work assignments, expectations, and issues alongside UK‑based Content Operations colleagues.
* Maintaining efficient workflows, systems usage, documentation, and accurate activity logging (e.g., in Biblio).
* Supporting the training and development of team members, completing skills matrices, and creating opportunities for growth.
* Leading and guiding the team through process‑improvement initiatives and system‑related escalations.
* Liaising with third‑party suppliers, briefing process changes, sharing schedules and load reports, and raising or resolving issues as needed.
* Supporting sourcing and resource‑planning activities with UK leadership.
Your impact will be critical to ensuring high‑quality content delivery, smooth operations, clear supplier engagement, and a well‑supported team that plays an essential role in OUP’s Education programme.
About You
* Fluency in written and spoken English
* Experience of leading a team and/or coaching or training others
* Excellent organisational, project‑management, and time‑management skills
* Experience communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
* Experience with SAP S4 Hana, Biblio, or similar systems
* Some knowledge of cross‑format publishing, ELL, or Education publishing
* Experience supporting process‑improvement or managing change across a team
* Experience with contracts and working with third‑party content creation suppliers
