Overview
Key duties (including, but not limited to):
1. Take ownership of the end-to-end pricing process including policy, tool suite, inflation studies, control processes and roadmap and links with portfolio management, claims and reserving
2. Manage actuarial resourcing to support the underwriting referrals workflow, ensuring timely delivery of standard and bespoke pricing models
3. Provide leadership on deal pricing, rate, price adequacy, binder deep dives and horizon scanning as required
4. Provide challenge, review and sign-off loss and pricing models and defend the loss pick to senior management and capital providers as required
5. Oversee and enhance the exposure management process to ensure catastrophe risk is understood, managed in line with agreed risk appetite and reflected in decision making
6. Direct account performance and market conditions monitoring, sharing insights to drive continuous improvement
7. Explore novel data sources, alternative analytical tools and techniques to further innovate on internal approaches
Qualifications required:
8. Qualified member of the Institute of Actuaries or equivalent
Experience required:
9. Strong stakeholder management and the ability to build productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders
10. Excellent communication skills enabling the individual to credibly represent Pricing in a range of interactions internally and externally (capital providers, coverholders and brokers)
11. Proven management experience, adept at negotiating, prioritising and delegating and building and optimising control processes
12. Enjoys providing technical leadership and thoughtful challenge to the business as well as coaching for development and managing performance of the analyst team
