Teaching Personnel is pleased to partner with a thriving secondary academy in Southampton to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher for a full-time, permanent post. This role offers the chance to join a committed and evolving Maths department, delivering high-quality mathematics education across Key Stages 3 and 4. About the Role You will: Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and challenging Mathematics lessons in line with the national curriculum. Support students to achieve their potential in GCSE Maths through excellent teaching, assessment and feedback. Use data to monitor and track student progress, identify under-achievement, and implement targeted interventions where required. Participate in collaborative departmental planning, sharing resources and best practice. Contribute to extra-curricular maths support (e.g. intervention sessions, clubs, revision workshops) as needed. Support the school’s inclusive ethos by adapting teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs. About the Academy The School is a mixed 11–16 secondary school based in Southampton. The academy is committed to a holistic and inclusive education: part of its ethos is a strong focus on community, support and opportunity for every student. Facilities are modern and well-equipped. The campus—built in 2012—offers purpose-built classrooms, ICT suites, and a range of learning and recreation spaces. The academy’s recent efforts have improved many aspects of school life. A 2025 monitoring visit noted strengthened leadership, improved behaviour, enhanced support for reading and SEND provision, and a renewed ambition across teaching and learning. SEND provision is robust: the school’s “Personalised Learning Centre” offers specialist support for pupils with a range of additional needs. The academy is part of the Oasis Community Learning trust, which offers staff access to a broader professional network, CPD opportunities and shared resources across multiple schools. Candidate Profile We are looking for a candidate who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Has strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and a passion for teaching maths at KS3 and KS4. Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills. Is committed to inclusion, supporting all pupils (including those with SEND or additional needs). Works well in a team — contributing to collaborative planning, resource sharing and department development. Is dedicated to raising attainment, supporting interventions, and fostering numeracy confidence in all students.
