SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator) And Disability Co-Ordinator
(FULL TIME, PERMANENT)
SALARY: MPR / UPR (MAIN PAY RANGE / UPPER PAY RANGE, including Outer London Allowance) + TLR 1c

We are proud of our thriving and inclusive community, and of the support that we offer all of our students with Special Education Needs, including those with speech, language and communication in our excellent Resource Provision. Offering a Resource Provision as well as support for SEND students within the mainstream curriculum, we have a large SEND team. We have two SENCO posts and this post has become vacant due to the retirement of one of our SENCOs at the end of this academic year.
Our Governors want to appoint well qualified, experienced, motivated and innovative individual who is committed to raising achievement. As SENCO, you will be an enthusiastic, inspirational teacher and have proven leadership and communication skills. Key responsibilities will include:
• Liaising with, advising and supporting all staff and managing learning support assistants on all matters relating to SEN and EAL;
• Liaising with parents, other agencies and partners;
• Reviewing, revising and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the school’s Inclusion policies to ensure the school meets its statutory responsibilities in relation to the Children and Families Act and Equality legislation.
· You will need to be a teacher with QTS.
· SENCO with the NASENCO (National Award for SEN Co-ordination) or the NPQ SENCO award.
· Aspiring SENCO’s must be willing to take the NPQ if they have not completed or started the NASENCO.
· Previous experience as a SENCO in either a primary or secondary school would be essential.
· Holding assessor qualifications would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will have the capacity to make a real contribution to the work of a supportive and continually improving school.
The ability to teach across the age and ability range is required, including the ability to deliver high quality interventions for SEND learners.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that the post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
