About the Role:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks at various client sites. You'll work independently and as part of a team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver maintenance services safely, effectively, and profitably at client premises
* Schedule and manage PPM tasks with accurate record keeping
* Respond to reactive maintenance needs and investigate root causes
* Estimate material and labour costs for client quotations
* Manage sub-contractors and order necessary stock/equipment
* Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment to high standards
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including Risk & COSHH Assessments
* Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, suppliers, and management
* Maintain accurate records of expenses, materials used, and timesheets
What We're Looking For:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Full, clean UK driving licence
* Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Manual Handling
* Proven experience in building maintenance (e.g., plumbing, joinery, painting, minor roof repairs)
* Knowledge of fire safety and electrical systems
* Comfortable with lone-working and quoting for jobs
Desirable Qualifications:
* IPAF, PASMA, PAT Testing, Legionella Awareness, Face Fit
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Personal Qualities:
* Organised, numerate, and literate
* Strong communication and customer care skills
* Team-oriented with good risk management awareness
* High level of common sense and initiative
