Job Description Business Development Officer Full Time Derby/Hybrid What you will be doing An opportunity to join a new team in Aerospace Procurement that will be responsible for development and delivery of the strategic plan and supporting strategies for Aerospace (Civil and Defence), including the early phase implementation of strategic change. The role will support Make vs Buy decisions across Civil and Defence, own Integrated Commodity Strategies and early phases of agreed strategic projects. The Business Development Officer role will report into Vice President Business Development in the Partners organisation. Responsibilities The Business Development Officer will support the Business Development Executives and Managers to develop and deliver the strategic plan and supporting strategies for Aerospace. Support the team to ensure corporate and customer requirements from Civil, Defence and others are fully captured and understood as part of strategy formation. Support the development, maintenance and communication for the overall strategic plan. Support delivery of the strategic leadership and vision across our portfolio of integrated commodity strategies and strategy processes. Enact our Make vs Buy and Do/Buy strategies, driving technology, supply-chain restructuring, capability acquisition and innovation across Operations and Civil Aerospace. Ensure the relevant Integrated Commodity Strategies within Civil and Defence are developed, maintained and communicated. Support the definition, recommendation and implementation of the strategic projects portfolio for Civil and Defence, Country procurement and Joint Operations Strategies Support the definition, recommendation and implementation of Partner Strategies e.g. Risk & Revenue Sharing Partners Ensure cohesion and alignment between technology, manufacturing sourcing and aftermarket strategies within Operations and as part of Civil and Defence strategy. Support special projects (e.g. M&A, Disposals, JV creation) as required. Maintain competitive benchmarking & analysis for Civil and Defence Lead cross functional activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Aftermarket in delivering the relevant strategy.
