About the Role - SEN Teacher - Alternative Provision (AP)
As an SEN Teacher, you will lead a class of pupils with a range of complex needs and behavioural challenges, delivering engaging, tailored lessons that meet individual learning styles. This SEN Teacher role is centred around inclusive practice, emotional support, and creating a structured environment where every pupil can thrive.

Key Responsibilities - SEN Teacher - Alternative Provision (AP)
Plan, deliver and adapt high-quality lessons as an SEN Teacher
Differentiate learning to meet a wide range of SEN, including SLD, PMLD and ASC
Implement effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
Support pupils' emotional regulation and engagement with learning
Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs and external professionals
Foster a safe, nurturing and structured classroom environmentThe Ideal SEN Teacher (AP Setting)
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
Experience working with complex SEN (SLD, PMLD, ASC or SEMH)
Strong behaviour management and resilience
Calm, patient and nurturing approach
Confidence supporting personal care and working alongside healthcare professionals
Understanding of sensory integration and communication strategies
