Delivering operational day-to-day finance functions, you offer accurate and timely financial information to meet business needs. Role Outcomes Completing the weekly and monthly financial operations within the organisation, such as bank reconciliations, payment runs and collation of payroll information, maintaining records through all relevant platforms. Overseeing and assisting where necessary the effective completion of day-to-day financial operations within the organisation, such as maintaining the purchase and sales ledger, matching bank payments and receipts to purchase and sales invoices, reconciling supplier statements, managing petty cash. Overseeing the payroll process; including liaising with a third-party provider and providing timely information and support for queries. Processing salary and overtime details and dealing with any pay queries. Processing monthly journals, including payroll, prepayments and accruals. Reviewing the monthly balance sheet and report on any discrepancies. Supporting with the production of management accounts, the review of budgets and year-end accounting requirements, to ensure the smooth operation of the finance department. Developing and maintaining effective financial processes and systems, utilising and identifying available technological advances and accounting software. Consistently working in alignment with our aims, objectives, policies, core values and standards set out in our Employee handbook. Fully participating in all relevant training to develop and maintain your performance in the role. Performing other duties as reasonably required within the role. ​ Qualifications Essential Evidence of ongoing professional development Desirable Accounting qualification (or studying towards) from a recognised accountancy body Experience Essential A financial background with good working knowledge of accounting Detailed operation of an accounting package e.g. QuickBooks or Sage Proven experience working in a similar role in any organisation Desirable Knowledge of charity accounting; restricted and unrestricted reserves​ Skills Essential Organised and methodical with an excellent attention to detail and accuracy Excellent time and workload management with the ability to work to tight deadlines Good IT Skills with emphasis on financial systems, including Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel Problem-solving skills and the ability to use own initiative ​The ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Excellent communication and presentation skills Attitude and Personal Attributes Essential Confidential and professional nature Positive attitude towards those with mental health difficulties and able to respect and value people unconditionally Ability to work effectively and make good use of time and resources A positive and flexible attitude to duties Patient, resilient and able to cope under pressure ​ How to Apply Please click the 'Apply for this job' button and follow the steps to fill out the application form.
