Job overview Band 3 Maternity Support Workers (MSW's) provide direct clinical care to all women and babies accessing maternity services, including Community, Antenatal clinic, Intrapartum and Inpatient areas. Shift patterns hours in Antenatal Clinics and Community are between 7.5 hours and 9.5 hours daytime only. Intrapartum and Inpatient areas will be shifts patterns including nights and weekends Band 3 MSW's may serve as a point of contact/support for women and their families and provide clinical, physical, psychological and emotional care and support; they provide appropriate information and where necessary, signpost to wider support organisations. They report to registered practitioners where planned delegated care has been provided.
