Incumbent (Rector): Atherton & Hindsford with Howe Bridge
The Bishop of Manchester and the PCCs are looking for a prayerful, creative and pastoral priest to lead the two parishes and four churches of the United Benefice
in the next stage of their life together.
The United Benefice of Atherton and Hindsford with Howe Bridge is located in the north-west of Salford & Leigh Deanery, with a rich industrial heritage and a diverse mix of urban and suburban residents with many opportunities for mission and ministry.
We are looking for a Rector who will lead on our Benefice vision of being a welcoming, worshipping, relevant Church reflecting God’s love, reaching out to the community to make new friends for Jesus, and equipping all for life.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, spiritually-grounded, pastoral priest in the modern catholic tradition, with a heart for growing disciples and reaching out to families, children and young people, to work with our ministry teams, PCCs and congregations
in serving God and sharing his love together.
We are seeking a Rector who will be:
* A prayerful person with a deep and robust faith.
* A collaborative leader, willing and able to share leadership in developing and implementing our vision and mission across the Benefice.
* A creative missionary leader, able to develop and enable the active witness of others.
* Someone who understands and is excited by opportunities for mission and ministry in schools, with families and younger people, and between the generations.
* Someone who has experience of leading and developing discipleship across multiple churches, and of encouraging and nurturing the vocations of others, lay and ordained.
* Someone willing to be a supportive and pastoral leader of change while understanding the value of tradition.
