About the Role:
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Manager will oversee the daily management of crews, including planning and executing works. The primary goal is to enhance performance and productivity while ensuring health and safety compliance.
Location: Kendal
Hours: 50 hours per week, 06:00-16:00, Monday to Friday
Salary: £38,643 per annum
Responsibilities – but not limited to:
1. Lead and motivate the team to deliver planning and operational tasks.
2. Ensure works are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with contract requirements.
3. Manage reporting operatives.
4. Conduct detailed site visits.
5. Maintain accurate records of resources, materials, and plant, and provide daily resource sheets.
6. Manage subcontractor performance.
7. Ensure operatives have the necessary vehicles, equipment, and skills.
8. Liaise with customers, clients, local authorities, and third parties regarding ongoing and upcoming works.
9. Provide supervision, assessments, and coaching to ensure team performance standards.
10. Perform quality site assessments (8 audits per month).
11. Undertake Toolbox Talks, briefings, and other communications regularly.
12. Conduct weekly fleet and plant checks to ensure maintenance and calibration are up to date.
13. Maintain personal skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
14. Comply with company HSEQ and welfare policies.
15. Meet or exceed all client KPIs.
16. Keep training and ID records up to date.
17. Ensure timely and accurate submission of timesheets and work records, including telematics verification if needed.
18. Ensure operative adherence to company vehicle policies, coaching or disciplinary actions as necessary.
19. Manage and assess operative competencies through the assessment program.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Management skills to supervise and lead crews.
* Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
* Operational experience, understanding, and relevant qualifications/accreditations to meet contractual, operational, and safety requirements.
