Position Overview
The Kelly lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the OrthoFinder project. The candidate will join a team focused on comparative genomics and the development of the OrthoFinder software.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development and extension of the OrthoFinder software, implementing new functionality to improve accuracy, scalability, and analytical capabilities.
* Integrate newly developed comparative genomics methods into the OrthoFinder pipeline and support its continued evolution as a research tool.
* Build robust, efficient computational workflows for data analysis.
* Engage with the OrthoFinder user community, contributing to issue resolution and ongoing software maintenance.
Qualifications
* PhD-level (or close to completion) in any discipline with expertise in data and programming.
* Strong experience in software development and data analysis.
* Background in building computational workflows.
* Interest in comparative genomics and biological research is a plus.
Additional Information
The position is full time, available immediately, and will last for 3 years.
The Kelly lab welcomes individuals with diverse career backgrounds, including data scientists, programmers, and software engineers from outside academia who wish to transition to biological research.
