Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced despatch Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for palletizing our products, operating a fork lift, and ensuring the quality assurance of goods leaving to the customer.. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills in a dynamic environment. The position is paid and suitable for those who are organised, physically fit, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Handling materials efficiently and safely throughout the property.
* Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery in accordance with health and safety regulations
* Managing shipping and receiving processes to ensure accurate dispatch and receipt of goods
* Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and stock movements
* Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch with attention to detail
* Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
* Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products
* Assisting with load and unload activities using appropriate equipment
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
* Driving the company van to transport our goods from storage to despatch and local delivery to customers.
Skills
* Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics environment
* Proficiency in materials handling equipment, particularly forklift operation (licence preferred)
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) software
* Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures
* Mechanical knowledge beneficial for equipment maintenance or troubleshooting
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
* Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
* Good communication skills to work effectively within a team
* Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks
