The Opportunity:
We're recruiting on behalf of a successful and well-established manufacturing business based near Headcorn, Kent. They’re seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with electrical experience to join their onsite growing engineering team.
This is a varied and hands-on role focusing on planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of plant machinery. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring safe, efficient operations with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical PPM and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery
Identify faults and complete timely repairs across mechanical and basic electrical systems
Work with pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Support site operations and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and adhere to health & safety standards
Participate in an on-call rota for breakdowns outside core hours
What We’re Looking For:
Strong mechanical engineering background, ideally with electrical maintenance experience
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Good knowledge of motors, pumps, gearboxes, and control systems
Ability to fault-find across both mechanical and basic electrical systems
Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Proactive and self-motivated with a team-focused attitude
Full UK driving licence (preferred)
Comfortable working in accordance with safety regulations and procedures
What’s On Offer:
£40,000 – £50,000 per annum depending on experience
Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 working hours 40 hours per week.
On-call rota participation for emergency breakdowns
