Embleton Spa Hotel is recruiting a talented part time Chef to work alongside the Head Chef in the smooth operation of our kitchen.
The family run hotel has a 40 cover bar and restaurant catering for hotel guests and passing trade. We serve lunch and dinner 7 days a week, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients from around Cumbria.
The right applicant will be passionate about food with a track record of striving for excellence. You will assist our Head Chef in setting our seasonal menu, and also in selecting our daily special dishes. You will work closely with our Head Chef to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen and take control of the kitchen in the Head Chefs absence.
You will possess strong culinary knowledge, management skills, health and safety expertise and leadership skills.
This position is part time 3-4 days per week, working days are negotiable. A full time position may be available for the right applicant. In return you will receive a competitive salary and paid holiday.
This position would suit an experienced Sous Chef, or a Chef de Partie ready to progress. Junior candidates with the right attitude and enthusiasm may be considered. You will be working as part of a small team and must be prepared to take on all tasks.
The hotel is located in the northern part of the beautiful Lake District, close to Keswick and Cockermouth. Candidates must have their own accommodation and transport. Live-in is not available.
