Responsibilities
* To ensure the laundry of the people we support is maintained to the highest standard, including ironing.
* Support residents to maintain as much independence as possible when completing their laundry.
* Ensure the laundry is collected and returned to the correct areas of the home/people we support and that the personal clothing of the people we support is folded and put away in a timely, neat and organised manner
* Ensure that the wardrobes and clothing drawers of the people we support are regularly maintained, with clothing kept clean and any worn or dirty items removed and dealt with appropriately.
* Ensure that all personal belonging and garments belonging to the people we support are discreetly and neatly labelled.
* Ensure that the laundry equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition. Report any defect to the Manager or Assistant Manager.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry area.
* To be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the people we support.
* To support people we support to inform their key worker when items/garments need replacing.
* Keep track of laundry supplies and report any issues to management
* To comply with Health & Safety regulations
About you
You will have good customer service and attention to detail and treat people with dignity and respect. You should have good listening and observational skills, along with some awareness of the challenges faced by the people we support.
