Consultant ENT/ Otolaryngology Surgeon Medico-Legal Expert

A well-established and respected UK-based medical firm is seeking an experienced Consultant ENT/OtolaryngologySurgeonto join its national panel of expert witnesses. As an ENT Expert specialising in medico-legal reports, you will play a key role in providing high-quality medical assessments and expert reports for legal purposes.
Your expertise will be utilised in various cases involving personal injury, clinical negligence, and occupational health issues, among others.
This is a remote, flexible opportunity designed for practising NHS and private ENT consultants who want to apply their clinical expertise in a medico-legal settingbacked by a dedicated administrative and clinical support team.
What Youll Do:
* Conduct thorough medical assessments for patients in the context of ENT conditions, including auditory, nasal, and throat-related issues.
* Provide comprehensive and detailed medico-legal reports, outlining the medical evidence and offering expert opinions.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
* Attend meetings or hearings as required to provide expert testimony.
* Stay updated on the latest ENT advancements.
* Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all relevant legal and ethical guidelines.
* Ensure all reports are completed within agreed timelines.
* Provide advice and expert opinions on a variety of medico-legal matters including personal injury, clinical negligence, and occupational health.
Requirements:
* Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent).
* Specialisation in ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) with significant clinical experience.
* Previous experience in preparing medico-legal reports is highly desirable.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to present complex medical information in a clear, concise manner.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
* Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., Royal College of Surgeons, British Medical Association) preferred.
Desired/ Preferred Skills:
* Experience with occupational health assessments.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Ability to provide expert testimony in court, if required.
