Offer description

Role Purpose:

* To support the operation of the Manufacturing Plant and all equipment and buildings and to ensure optimum production performance at all times.
* Installation, general and preventative maintenance on a range of production equipment.
* Responding to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the plant.
* Ensuring machines and equipment are safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose.
* Involvement with new design, installation, and movements of existing equipment.
* Using a planned maintenance system on a day to day basis and with responsibility for working on own initiative during shifts.
* Utilising shift reporting to effectively and clearly communicate between shifts, Engineering department and other departments.
* Utilise root cause analysis tools to investigate issues and breakdowns, documenting immediate containment actions and final countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.
* Working a 24/7, Panama shift pattern whilst portraying best endeavour to respond to call outs and availability for potential overtime as required in line with the remit of the post.

Role Duties:

* Completing all preventative and general maintenance work on site on time, maintaining all equipment to the manufacturer's recommendations, and ensuring all records are completed and always up to date.
* Keep unplanned Engineering downtime to a minimum and within set targets.
* Dealing with unscheduled and emergency maintenance work and breakdowns, including fault finding and necessary repair in a safe and timely manner; conduct root cause analysis on shift documenting and communicating immediate countermeasures and long term actions to prevent re-occurrence and allow accurate reporting to the Shift Manager for the shift log.
* Be proactive in predicting, detecting, reporting and diagnosing potential and existing software, electrical and mechanical problems on all equipment to identify issues and faults, solve problems, and increase the reliability, availability, and utilisation of the plant..
* Maintain factory services in excellent order, utilise 5S system, and ensure housekeeping is kept to the highest standard in all areas of responsibility for the Engineering Dept.
* To be a key member during department and business audits and ensure the Engineering department comply with any recommendations.
* Liaise with and support the Engineering Manager, Operators, and Team Leaders to ensure the maintenance of all assets and good inter-department relations and communications.
* Interpret engineering drawings and specifications when required to diagnose and resolve problems or when installing new equipment.
* Utilising shift reporting to effectively and clearly communicate between shifts, Engineering department and other departments
* Demonstrate commitment to Operating Procedures and continuous improvement processes.
* Train and provide guidance to Engineers and Operators as required
* To raise, propose and lead Capital expenditure projects relevant to Engineering, EHS or site infrastructure for discussion and approval by Manager/Director.
* To apply company management of change procedure to track and mitigate risks from any equipment or process changes
* To contribute to the engineering strategy in order to meet future EHS requirements
* To ensure that all key performance indicators [KPIs] and/or objectives set with your Manager are performed effectively and within target and agreed parameters.
* To encourage, promote, be involved in the risk assessment and SOP process to Celotex standards.
* To adhere to all policies and procedures and ensure that you respect these regarding health and safety, the elimination of waste and care for the environment, equality of opportunity and the prevention of fraud.
* To adhere to the company Quality Policy and Procedures and be proactive in reporting or raising issues of either non-compliance or areas for improvement in order to ensure complete customer satisfaction through:
* compliance with the relevant Standards and Regulations.
* improvement in products, solutions and services.
* a quality system that is fit for purpose, continuously maintained and improved.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

Essential on Entry:

* Must possess a recognised electrical and/or mechanical engineering qualification to HNC/HND Level or equivalent level of qualifications and/or experience.
* Must be electrical and/or mechanical engineering apprentice level 3 trained.
* Proven pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical knowledge including PLCs, three phase, inverters, control panels, sensors.
* Experience of working in a continuous manufacturing process environment using TPM and other preventative maintenance systems is essential.
* Conscientious, motivated individual with an enquiring mind, who is able to contribute to the continuous improvement of the engineering function.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good IT skills with experience on Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams etc.
* Knowledge of CMMS software or alternatives.
* Experience in writing SOPs/Method statements and conducting formal Risk Assessments

Essential in Role: (Training can be given)

* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
* PASMA License for mobile access platform work.
* IPAF License for Access Platform.
* Experience of Fault Finding PLC Siemens S7 controlled machinery; Systems knowledge
* A good working knowledge of SCADA and HMI systems
* Experience in utilizing Management of Change Procedures
* Experience of World Class Manufacturing including RCA would be beneficial
* Experience of automated electro mechanical servo motion and robotics in fast moving plants and machinery such as conveyor systems, Kuka robots, saws, packaging and labelling equipment
* HND Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
* NEBOSH Qualifications
* Robotic Experience – Maintenance of KUKA robots
