Overview
An opportunity has arisen for the position of Senior Biomedical Scientist - Quality lead within Cellular Pathology at West Suffolk Hospital. The suitable applicant would act as Quality lead for Cellular Pathology; quality tasks are shared within the team and support is given. Acting as quality lead would be a portion of the role, with opportunities to use and develop technical skills, and senior BMS staff spending a portion of their time on bench tasks.
Responsibilities
* Act as Quality lead for Cellular Pathology, working directly with the Laboratory Manager.
* Lead and cover technical tasks as required and be a key member of the team.
* Support and participate in ongoing large departmental projects, including involvement in selected areas as appropriate.
* Contribute to digital pathology initiatives, including ongoing implementation projects.
* Support the specimen tracking system to enable LEAN working and other workflow improvements.
* Support the LIMS upgrade project to enhance Cellular Pathology workflows.
* Develop skills in viable areas such as dissection where experience is advantageous.
Qualifications
* Previous experience within quality is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience of specimen dissection would be advantageous.
