About the Role
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive school community in Bishop Auckland. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support teaching and learning, lead learning activities, and help pupils achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, small groups, or whole classes in the absence of the teacher
* Support the planning, delivery, and assessment of lessons
* Assist in raising standards of pupil achievement and progress
* Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs
* Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
* Contribute to the wider life of the school
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience
* Experience working within a primary school setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Confidence leading lessons and managing classroom behaviour
* A caring, flexible, and proactive approach
* A strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
