From client onboarding through to the completion of instructions, we support Anti Money Laundering compliance, including source of funds and wealth checks. The team also handles conflict and conduct queries, professional indemnity and general insurance renewals, complaints, claims, and circumstances, data privacy and procurement processes. Beyond this, we assist with due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, HR support, risk assessments, and cyber security as well as picking up adhoc project work. By partnering closely with both legal and support teams, we ensure our regulatory and ethical obligations are met while maintaining a high standard of client service. Role Purpose We are seeking an experienced AML & Conflicts Team Leader to join our compliance team. This pivotal role combines team leadership with hands-on involvement in client onboarding and regulatory compliance. You will manage and mentor a team of analysts, oversee AML, CDD, and conflicts processes and act as a subject matter expert. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Oversight: • Manage and mentor a team of AML and conflicts analysts • Allocate and manage workloads, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. • Provide training and ensure consistent compliance practices across the team. Client Onboarding & Compliance: • Oversee client onboarding and matter opening processes. • Assisting with the day-to-day client onboarding, dealing with more complex matters and providing holiday cover. • Troubleshoot onboarding issues and maintain efficient workflows. • Act as a subject matter expert for AML, CDD and conflicts. Regulatory Compliance: • Conduct sanctions screenings and resolve conflicts. • Advise fee-earners on CDD requirements and AML regulations. • Monitor changes in AML legislation and update internal policies accordingly. Policy & Process Development: • Support drafting of compliance policies and procedures. • Assist with system upgrades and process improvements. • Deliver training sessions on AML and conflicts compliance. Stakeholder Engagement: • Communicate confidently with senior stakeholders. • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure regulatory alignment. Team Contribution and Practical Support • Willing to roll up your sleeves and get involved in tasks when needed. • Proactive in supporting colleagues and contributing to team success. • Undertake any other duties as needed to ensure operational success. • Ready to step in and assist during busy periods to ensure deadlines are met. • Collaborative approach with a positive can-do attitude Skills & Experience Required You’ll be someone who has: • Significant experience in AML and compliance, ideally within a law firm/FCA regulated firm. • Strong understanding of AML and conflicts requirements. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. • Ability to manage priorities under pressure and maintain high attention to detail. • Source of Wealth and Source of Funds experience would be beneficial but not essential.
