Multi‑Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) at Noble Foods (Gainsborough Poultry site) – fast‑paced FMCG production environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving our production and site services equipment. This is a practical, varied role where no two days are the same.
* Respond quickly to breakdowns and carry out effective electrical and mechanical fault‑finding.
* Maintain and repair production machinery including conveyors, evisceration equipment, packing machines and chillers.
* Complete planned preventive maintenance and support continuous improvement.
* Fault‑find on PLC‑controlled systems, motors, drives, sensors and control panels.
* Carry out mechanical work on gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics and basic fabrication.
* Work closely with production and hygiene teams to minimise downtime.
* Support shutdowns, installations and site engineering projects.
* Record all work accurately using the site CMMS.
* Ensure all tasks meet strict food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards.
What We're Looking For
You will be a confident, safety‑focused engineer who can think on their feet in a high‑volume environment.
Essential
* Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
* Multi‑skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias.
* Solid mechanical fault‑finding experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Good working knowledge of PLC fault‑finding, motors, inverters, sensors and control systems.
* Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
* Understanding of permit‑to‑work, isolation and lock‑off procedures.
Desirable
* Experience in food, FMCG or poultry processing environments.
