🚨 Systems Safety Engineer – Rail (ETCS Onboard Projects)
We’re looking for a Systems Safety Engineer to support ongoing ETCS onboard projects. You’ll be responsible for carrying out safety assurance work in line with CSM-RA and CENELEC standards — making sure our systems are designed, delivered, and proven to be safe.

What you’ll be doing:
1. Planning and delivering safety assurance activities in line with the system safety plan
2. Running hazard identification workshops and keeping the project hazard log up to date
3. Completing hazard analysis and assessing risk through design and delivery
4. Making sure safety requirements are identified, implemented and verified
5. Carrying out risk assessments at each stage of the lifecycle
6. Communicating clearly on safety and risk issues across project teams
7. Working with operators, assessors, certification bodies and other key stakeholders
8. Producing hazard analysis reports and safety cases to CENELEC EN 50129 standards
What we’re looking for:
9. Experience in safety planning, hazard analysis and producing assurance evidence
10. Knowledge of CENELEC EN 50126/50128/50129 and CSM-RA
11. Experience with safety-critical ETCS systems
12. Understanding of CCS NTSN and Assurance NTSN
13. Background in the UK rail industry (rolling stock experience would be a bonus)
14. Familiarity with configuration management and verification & validation processes
15. Good communication skills and confidence working with different stakeholders
