Job Description
We have an excellent opportunity for an upholstery sewing machinist to join our small friendly team with experience using walking foot and overlocking machines.
As our sewing machinist you will be required to produce varied work making up box piped cushions, sewing carcasses for sofas and chairs, using the over-locker and producing scatter cushion cases with different finishes (self-piped, contrast piped, fringe, top stitched etc).
The successful candidate may also be required to cut out around templates if required. The role involves mainly working with upholstery weight fabrics and occasionally vinyl and leather.
Applicants must be able to use an industrial walking foot sewing machine and overlocking machine.
Rate/Working hours
· The role starts at £12.71 per hour (to be negotiated depending on experience)
· Permanent Role
· Working hours 32 hours per week. With possible overtime.
· Flexibility available on which days the work is carried out. (Monday to Friday)
Essential Skills and Experience
· Industrial Sewing Occupations: 1 years (preferred)
· A positive attitude
· Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
· Willingness to be flexible and to use your initiative at times
· Ability to work fast and under pressure to meet production demands.
· Must be a team player.
· A keen eye for detail and accuracy in all work with the ability to produce good quality work.
· Must be able to travel to/from place of work.
